The school was founded in 1995 and currently has around 100 pupils from grades 1 to 10. The school is a publicly approved primary school with the right to state subsidies. The school owner is Elihumenigheten Vestfold.
Elihu Kristne Grunnskole follows the public school curriculum except in the subject of RE (Religios Education) where the school has its own approved curriculum named "Christian Life".
